Moscow and the Moscow RegionInspection · damage · documents for a dispute

Typical scenario

A stain reappears after repairs: a new leak or an earlier effect?

If a stain appears on a recently restored ceiling, appearance alone does not distinguish fresh water ingress from residual moisture. Dates of the first event, drying, finishing and rediscovery matter. Condition should be recorded before opening or repainting, comparing the same areas rather than photographs of different rooms. One moisture reading describes the inspection moment; it does not by itself reconstruct the complete wetting history.

What needs to be clarified

The task could examine documented condition changes and whether the evidence distinguishes earlier consequences from a new water impact.

Materials to prepare

  • Records and photographs of the first leak, drying and completed repairs.
  • New photographs with overall views, location references and discovery dates.
  • Plumbing inspection information and available measurements with locations and times.

What to compare

  • Whether the stain and damaged areas occupy the same positions across stages.
  • Which materials and layers were replaced and which remained during repairs.
  • Whether fresh water ingress is documented and which alternative explanations remain possible.

Possible outcome of the analysis

A possible output is a comparison diagram, a finishing-condition timeline and the observations needed to investigate moisture sources and affected materials further.

Limits of the conclusions

Colour or one photograph alone cannot reliably establish the cause. Inspecting accessible surfaces does not replace examining concealed utilities; technical features do not automatically identify a legally liable person.
